isiziba is a boating logbook and anchoring companion for mobile phones and tablets. Log every passage, keep your vessels on file, watch your sea time add up, and work out how much anchor rode to let out. It all stays on your own device and works offline, with no account and no subscription.
The name comes from the isiZulu for a deep pool, a fitting name for an app that lives on the water.

Open isiziba and your totals are waiting: trips logged, hours at sea, distance and expenses. From there it's one tap to the Trip Log, your Sea-Time Summary, a new vessel or Anchor Rode, with Record a New Trip right below.
LOG EVERY PASSAGE
Record each trip in as much or as little detail as you like: vessel and role, departure and arrival, distance, engine hours, fuel and water, conditions and the skipper's sign-off. Only the basics are required, and a Minimal trip takes seconds. Missing an activity or a crew role? Add your own to the list and it's there next time.
YOUR SEA TIME - SUMMED UP
Hours, miles, tidal miles and days at sea add up by themselves, along with qualifying passages, offshore trips, overnight passages and your time as skipper. Carry over earlier experience so the totals show your whole time at sea.
YOUR FLEET - YOUR DATA
Save each vessel once (hull, dimensions, engines, tanks, registration and MMSI), then pick it for every trip. Metres or feet, kilograms or pounds: switch units and your figures convert. Add your own hull materials, engine makes, fuel types and more, and they're ready for every vessel.
ANCHOR WITH CONFIDENCE
Enter the tides from your tide table, your depth and your scope, and Anchor Rode works out how much rode to let out for the whole stay, allowing for the highest water. Pick a saved vessel and its transducer, bow roller and draft fill in for you.
SEE THE TIDE BENEATH YOU
The Depth Profile shows how the water rises and falls from arrival to departure, with your draft drawn to scale and a clear warning if you would touch bottom. Your Numbers at Arrival explains every figure: what you entered and what was calculated.
KNOW BEFORE YOU TOUCH BOTTOM
Add your boat's draft and Anchor Rode checks the whole stay, not just your arrival. If low water will leave too little water under your keel, the calculator warns you in plain words, with the time of low water and how far short you would be, and the Depth Profile turns the curve red where the boat grounds.
PRIVATE - OFFLINE - YOURS
No account, no cloud, no tracking, no ads and no subscription. Your logbook stays on your device and works with no signal at all. Make a backup file whenever you like and keep it wherever you trust.

Privacy & Use Policy
isiziba is a private, offline app for keeping your own boating logbook — recording where you went, when, with whom, and what each trip cost — and for working out the anchor rode you need when you enter valid tide information. This policy explains what the app stores, how your information is protected, and the terms for using it.

Your Data Stays On Your Device
Everything you enter — your trips, vessels, sign-offs, notes, settings and lists — is stored only on this device. isiziba does not need the internet to work: nothing is uploaded to a cloud, there are no user accounts, there is no syncing to other devices, and there is no analytics, tracking or advertising. We never see, collect, transmit or share your information.
Backups & Data Loss
Because your information lives only on this device, you are the only one who holds it, and the only one who can back it up. If you delete isiziba, reset the app, or lose or replace your device, your data cannot be recovered by us, so please keep your own copies of anything important.
isiziba can create a backup file containing your trips, vessels, settings and lists. This file is plain and unencrypted, so where you keep it is entirely up to you. If you save it to a folder that syncs to a cloud service, or share it to one, a copy will be stored there by that service, outside isiziba, so please choose a location that you trust.
Using isiziba
isiziba is a recording aid and personal reference tool, and it is not a substitute for proper seamanship. The Anchor Rode calculator provides an approximate guide to the rode you may need, and it is only as reliable as the information you enter, so you should always cross-check official tide tables and charts and apply your own judgement. Logbook entries are created from the information you provide and are not verified, and we cannot guarantee that any training body or authority will accept them. isiziba is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the RYA, IYT, MCA, NauticEd, or any other organisation. You remain responsible at all times for the safety of your vessel and crew.
Age
isiziba is intended for adults who are keeping their own boating records, and it is not designed for or directed at children under the age of 13. The app has no sign-up, no age gate and no way to identify who is using it, because it collects nothing and keeps everything on your own device. As a result, isiziba holds no personal information about any user, whatever their age, and there is nothing for a parent or guardian to request, correct or have deleted.
No Warranty
isiziba is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or guarantees of any kind, whether express or implied. It is a personal record-keeping and reference tool, and any figures it produces — including the Anchor Rode calculation and the totals shown on your dashboard — are only as accurate as the information you enter and should never be relied upon as your sole basis for a decision. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising from the use of, or inability to use, the app, including the loss of stored data. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, for using the app sensibly alongside proper seamanship, and for backing up your own information.
Governing Law
This policy and your use of isiziba are governed by the law of Portugal, and any dispute relating to them will be dealt with under that law. If you use isiziba as a consumer, nothing in this policy removes or limits any mandatory legal rights or protections that you have under the law of your own country of residence.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time as isiziba develops or as the law requires. When we do, we will change the effective date shown above so that you can see when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this policy occasionally, and your continued use of isiziba after an update takes effect means that you accept the revised policy.
